Your Way to a Younger Neck!

Liposuction of the Neck
Neck liposuction is a very simple procedure and, depending upon the volume of fat to be removed, can sometimes be done with IV sedation and local anesthesia in my office. For those who require more fat removal, general anesthesia in my accredited Boca Raton plastic surgery operating room would be the path of choice. Once the area is numbed (or the patient is under general anesthesia), tiny incisions are made to allow the cannula, a small tube that removes the fat, to be inserted. Tumescent fluid, a combination of sterile salt water and epinephrine, is inserted into the area(s) to be treated to loosen the fat and make removal easier. Once the fat has been removed, the tiny incisions are covered with sterile strips and my liposuction patient goes home to recover.
Neck Lift Procedure
A neck lift is always performed under general anesthesia in our accredited operating suite. After marking my patient, general anesthesia is given and incisions are placed around the ears. The muscles at the front of the neck are tightened and, if necessary, extra fat is carefully removed with liposuction. The neck skin is redraped and excess skin is removed. Tiny sutures are inserted around the ears to enhance healing and minimize scarring. You will leave the operating room to rest in the recovery area until you are ready to go home. Once home, I’ll ask you to wear a compressive head wrap for a few weeks to minimize swelling and aid in healing.
