Depending upon whether the procedure is an open or closed rhinoplasty, incisions are made within the nose and Dr. Berman reshapes the nose structure by cutting, trimming, or manipulating the cartilage and bone through the nasal incisions. When additional cartilage is needed to enlarge parts of the nose, Dr. Berman can take cartilage from the septum or, in some cases, the ear. The procedure generally takes about 90 minutes to complete.
