What is a traditional BBL?

A Brazilian butt lift is essentially fat-grafting for creating a larger more sculpted buttock. Volume can also be added using implants or a combination of both. Typically, the fat used would be pulled from other areas of the body and injected into the buttocks’ fatty tissue and glutes. However, the risks of gluteal augmentation are higher than traditional sculpting through liposuction. Some of the more serious risks include Infection of the area, implant rupture, blood clots fat embolism, and potential cardiac/pulmonary complications.

What is the Alternative?

Creating the elusion of a larger rear can be easily done by slimming and sculpting the upper thighs and hips with liposuction. The benefits of traditional liposuction are that your surgeon will be able to contour the body to enhance its size and shape without the transfer of fat or adding implants. All surgical procedures carry a risk but comparatively, traditional liposuction has a much lower risk than a Brazilian butt lift.
