Liposuction vs. Coolsculpting vs. SculpSure
When patients are dealing with stubborn fat deposits that cannot be eliminated with exercise or diet, they are looking for a quick and long-lasting solution. There are a variety of body sculpting options available today that can help to eliminate these stubborn fat deposits. Three of the most popular include Liposuction, CoolSculpting, and SculpSure. Read on to learn about the similarities and differences of these procedures.
Liposuction
Liposuction is a surgical body contouring procedure to reshape and slim specific areas of the body. During this procedure, small incisions are made in the treatment area, and a small, hollow instrument called a cannula is inserted through these incisions. Suction is then used to remove unwanted fat through the cannula. Liposuction can slim the hips, tummy, arms, buttocks, thighs, beneath the chin, knees, and back. Patients who maintain a healthy lifestyle after their liposuction procedure can expect permanent results. Recovery time can last anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, depending on the amount of fat removed.
CoolSculpting
CoolSculpting is the non-invasive, only FDA-cleared non-surgical fat-freezing procedure to permanently eliminate stubborn fat deposits. This procedure delivers precise controlled cooling energy to target fat cells underneath the skin. Fat cells are then frozen, die, and are naturally eliminated from the body with time. This treatment can be done on the abdomen, love handles, inner and outer thighs, and double chin. Each CoolSculpting treatment takes about one hour, and multiple treatments may be necessary for optimal results. There is no downtime associated with CoolSculpting. Results take several weeks to become apparent.
SculpSure
SculpSure is a non-invasive laser treatment to eliminate up to 24% of your fat permanently(similar to Coolsculpting) with a single treatment. This treatment is quick, only taking about 25 minutes. SculpSure uses a laser that precisely targets fat cells under the skin. The laser raises the temperature of body fat to permanently destroy treated fat cells. Like CoolSculpting, the body will naturally eliminate these dead fat cells over time for a slimmer figure. SculpSure can be done on the abdomen, flanks, and love handles. Results take several weeks to become apparent. The results are comparable to those with Coolsculpting.
Unlike Liposuction, CoolSculpting and SculpSure are non-invasive body contouring treatments. Its long-term results are not as demonstrable as liposuction which is still the gold standard. However, Liposuction can more thoroughly treat many areas of the body.
