ThermiVa vs. Labiaplasty

ThermiVa, a recent innovation in feminine rejuvenation, has quickly gained popularity since its release in 2015. However, the topic of vaginal rejuvenation can be unclear to some patients. When do you know when you need it, and which procedure is right for you? At Berman Plastic Surgery & Spa, we offer two innovative options: ThermiVa and labiaplasty surgery.

What Sets These Procedures Apart?

While both ThermiVa and labiaplasty surgery work to enhance the appearance and function of the vagina and labia, these procedures differ in many ways.

ThermiVa

ThermiVa is a non-invasive vaginal rejuvenation procedure done in-office. No anesthesia is required, as the procedure is virtually pain-free. ThermiVa uses radiofrequency (RF) energy to stimulate collagen production. The RF energy is delivered to the labia or inner vagina using a special probe designed for the treatment. ThermiVa can treat a variety of issues, including vaginal dryness, urinary leakage, orgasmic dysfunction, and improvement of the aesthetic appearance of the outer vagina or labia.  The nice thing about ThermiVA is there is no downtime, no sutures, no dressing changes, and no pain!

Labiaplasty

Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure done to tighten and reshape the outer vaginal structures. Many women choose to undergo labiaplasty after childbirth, significant weight loss, or simply due to aging. Labiaplasty can be done to reduce the labia majora, labia minora, reduce the mons pubis, or remodel the clitoral hood. The structures targeted will differ from patient to patient, as labiaplasty is a very individualized procedure.

Which Option is Right for You?

The decision to undergo any form or vaginal rejuvenation is a personal one, and should only be done to improve your own quality of life. For patients who wish to rejuvenate their feminine structures without surgery or significant downtime, ThermiVa may be the answer. However, if you wish to reshape your vaginal structures for long-term results, a labiaplasty is usually the answer.
