Combining Laser Treatments for Facial Rejuvenation

A recent study has assessed the effectiveness and safety of combining non-ablative erbium fractional treatments with optimized intense pulsed light. It is believed that a combination of laser treatments can “potentially increase the effectiveness of treatment without the additional downtime associated with another procedure.”

During this study, ten subjects, called Group A, received full face treatments with a non-ablative erbium fractional laser along with an optimized intense pulsed light treatment. Twenty-six subjects, called Group B, received full face treatments with only the non-ablative fractional laser. Overall, Group A experienced a greater pigment improvement than Group B one month after treatment. It has been confirmed that a combination of these two treatments is safe and effective.

At Berman Plastic Surgery & Spa, we use the MaxG and Non-Ablative 1540 Erbium lasers for facial rejuvenation treatments. The Non-ablative 1540 Erbium laser heats targeted tissues without removing layers of skin. This means there is little to no downtime involved. The MaxG laser is used for intense pulsed light treatments and is specifically designed for pigmentation removal.

Combining non-ablative erbium fractional treatments with optimized intense pulsed light can help to produce the benefits of these treatments, including treatment of sun damage, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, and more, without the added downtime.
